Smog King - #2

Clay tried to open the jar with all his might but could't get it open so he passed the jar to Jake to let him have a go. Jake had been strong as an ox his entire life and he too could not open the jar. Without saying a word they knew the only way to open the jar was teamwork. They decided that it would be best if Jake took the lid end when Jake announced, "You hold the jar, you've always had sticky fingers."
Clay let out a chuckle at that, he thought the play on words was amusing. Jake on the other hand had this whole maniacal thing going on with his laughter, this of course made Clay lose his composure with it all and start laughing hysterically. By this time Jake had totally lost it and he yanked the jar from Clay thrust it to the air as his friend had done before him before smashing it on the ground.
When the jar hit the ground somehow it made an explosion that let out large puff of smoke. The radiation from the mushroom wars must have polluted the pickle.
Or was it something more?
As the smoke cleared they noticed they had splashed themselves with the pickle juice and everywhere the juice had landed gave a pulsing glow that slowly faded away. It was quite eerie, and to make it worse it had become completely silent.
"Whoa", Clay let out in a long breath. "What was that?"
"I don't... I don't know. I mean... I mean the bang and the smoke and the glowing." He went on with this rave for about five minutes.
It didn't matter to Clay anymore he bent over and picked the pickle off of the floor, blew it off as to remove some of the filth it had accumulated , and started examining it. "You reckon It's still good?" It was odd how he always said 'reckon' he wasn't country by any means, in fact he was into hip-hop and techno.
"Does it really matter at this point?," said Jake. "We're starving, I mean come on here!" Jake was clearly aggravated, slowly starving to death will do that to you every time.
